The 4th Annual Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo is an annual fundraiser organized by the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club. Cyclists may choose to ride the Piccolo (58 km), the Medio (102 km) or the Gran (152 km). All routes include the awesome 26 km paved cycling path, scenic and quiet back country roads that cross three different rivers. The event is hosted at the 5 Star St. Eugene Golf Resort Casino. The entry fee includes a Commemorative-Dri Fit T-Shirt, water bottle, 5 nutritional aid stations, mobile mechanical and medical support and a delicious post ride buffet. All proceeds go towards the maintenance of North Star Rails To Trails, the local elementary school IRide Program to promote youth cycling & safety and financial support for improvements for a local Seniors Home (FW Green Memorial Home).
