The annual event was founded in December of 1998 when a handful of Rotarians and friends pedaled San Antonio's established Hike & Bike Trails and backroads to visit four of the five Spanish Colonial missions. The goals: cement friendships, highlight the historic Mission Trails and the Southside, encourage family and individual bicycling, and to raise funds for charitable activities. Today the annual ride hosts more than 400 riders, three performance level routes, volunteers from neighborhood organizations, and helps support projects in community non-profits.
