The 36th annual Jesse James Bike Tour is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2017! The tour is an official event of Defeat of Jesse James Days, one of Minnesota’s largest community celebrations. Held the weekend after Labor Day each year, Defeat of Jesse James Days commemorates the failed bank robbery of 1876 that led to the ultimate downfall of the James-Younger gang. The raid is re-enacted several times throughout the weekend.
This fun ride leads you through scenic southeastern Minnesota. Enjoy the great outdoors and meet new people on one of five routes, each featuring aid stations and refreshments. All proceeds from the ride benefit community projects, including the Mill Towns Trail and Northfield’s Safe Routes to School program.
